Process

From day one to year six.

The Beckham regime is a six-year engagement, not a single filing. Here is how the timeline runs from your first day in Spain.

  1. Day 0
    01

    Arrival in Spain

You take up residence. Empadronamiento, NIE, opening a bank account. We don't need to be involved yet — but the sooner the assessment is taken, the safer the timeline.

  2. Day ~30
    02

    Social security registration

The six-month statutory clock for Modelo 149 starts on the day you are registered with the Spanish social security system. This is the date that matters — not your contract date, not your NIE date.

  3. Day 1–5
    03

    Online assessment

Ten-minute intake. Instant preliminary verdict from our deterministic rules engine. You can take it before you even arrive.

  4. Within 48h
    04

    Lawyer-reviewed verdict

A senior abogado reviews your file, flags edge cases against your specifics, and confirms the path forward in writing.

  5. Within ~30 days
    05

    Modelo 149 filed

We prepare and file the election with AEAT, well inside the six-month statutory window. We track the AEAT response and surface it in your case file.

  6. Each spring
    06

    Annual Modelo 151

Your annual return under the regime. We prepare it from the documents already in your case file — minimal back-and-forth.

  7. Year six
    07

    Planned exit

Twelve months ahead of the end of the regime, we sit down with you to plan the transition: stock-option timing, asset disposals, residency strategy.

Six months from social-security registration. The deadline cannot be extended and the election cannot be made retroactively. Take the assessment early.
